Château de Châteaubriant, France
This castle was built during the 11th century. It housed the wealthy Jean de Laval and his wife. They stayed there upon the invitation of King Francis I. Eventually; Jean’s wife became a mistress of the king. When Jean knew about this, he locked his wife up in a room until she was poisoned. It is said that to this date, every October 16, the day when she died, Jean’s wife, walks the halls of the castle.
