The San Francisco Church in Portuguese City, Evora is home to the Chapel of Bones. Built in a gothic style during the 15th and 16th centuries, this chapel exudes an eerie ambience for people who are not used to seeing countless bones piled together. Needless to say, the walls no longer have empty spaces as bones were packed on every side.
