Sagada, Philippines’ Hanging Coffins
Many cultures prefer to have their dead buried out of sight so they place them in a commemorative headstone. This is not the case in Sagada, Mountain Province, Philippines where the natives hang their ancestors on cliffs. And they’ve been following this tradition for centuries. The haunting echoes coming from the valley along with the cool breeze coming from the mountains certainly make this final resting place quite scary.
