Pripyat, Ukraine’s Abandoned City
The Chernobyl nuclear disaster that happened on April 26, 1986 made the City of Pripyat in Ukraine a ghost town. More or less 4,000 people died due to exposure to high levels of radiation. Over 200,000 emergency workers, 270,000 residents and 116,000 evacuees were adversely affected. The ghost town is now a gruesome reminder of the worst nuclear accident and is currently taken over by nature. Urban explorers likewise travel to this deserted part of Ukraine.
