The unforeseen effects of progress
A couple was on their way home with their friend tagging along. They were driving a huge truck. They were talking quite loud when they suddenly saw an old man crossing the street out of nowhere. The guy driving the truck hit the break. They stopped and checked if they had killed the man. Apparently, there was no one there. They can’t believe it as all 3 of them saw an old man. Eventually, they found out that there was a building on the other side of the road that was built several years ago in front of the old man’s house. He used that space for his chicken and fed them each day by crossing the street. When the building was constructed, he resisted to take his animals out and continued feeding them until he was hit by a truck one night. Several truck drivers told have similar stories in the past.
